Slicks coming back to F1?

Are the slick tyres coming back to F1?!?
Well... not in 2008... BUT it's a possibility for 2009.

At some years ago (some of you can't remember it) F1 only had slick tyres (grooved ones were only for wet weather). Predictions are that slick tyres will bring the laptimes 3 seconds down... a little faster don't you think?
However, FIA pretends to bring slicks back to the F1 and lower the aerodynamic downforce some 40 or 50%... if we consider that on this starting season we'll also have F1s without traction control... I think this will means a raise on the number of overtaking maneuvers (that's the intent of these measures)...
I think that F1 will be more fun now... but let's just hope that the development won't be prejudiced!!!! F1 was always known for having the top technology on racing sports...
On the other measures... I don't know about the drivers opinion... but about the slicks ALL OF THEM are waiting for it!!
